Preparing For YOUR Surgery

DO NOT have anything to eat or drink after midnight.

Medication for blood pressure, heart disease, asthma or seizures may be taken the morning of surgery with a sip of water.

Do not take any pain medication after midnight.

Be sure to have someone drive you to and from the surgery center.

Arrive a the surgery center, located at 11811 North Dale Mabry, Tampa 1 hour and 15 minutes before your scheduled surgery time.

Wear comfortable clothes.  No jewelry, no makeup.

Post Operative Instructions

Use ice packs as needed to surgical site, 30 minute intervals.

Antibiotics for 2 days post-op.  Start the morning after surgery.

Pain medication as needed.  Prescription for Vicodin ES 1-2 tabs every 4 to 6 hours for pain.

Do not take pain medication the morning of your post-op office visit with Dr. Turner.

You may shower with your surgical dressing on the day after surgery.  You may remove the dressing after you have finished the antibiotics.  Do not swim, bathe in rub or soak in hot tub for 2 weeks.

No driving for 3 days post-op.

Notify Dr. Turner if you develop fever over 101.5 if your surgical wound develops purulent drainage.
